TIN – The IKHAYA Node (LoRa IOT)
The LoRa-based Temperature Node (TIN) is an ideal solution for rapid deployment and self-installation in areas lacking external electricity outlets. This battery-powered unit is an extremely cost-effective option for installations requiring a high number of independent temperature sensors.
The TIN node operates in conjunction with a LoRa base station gateway, capable of connecting hundreds of TIN units within a few kilometers. LoRa technology is perfect for hard-to-reach locations where Wi-Fi or mobile networks are unavailable, and the unit does not require any cabling or wiring.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
The TIN node, being battery-powered, can be installed anywhere within the monitored facility. It can be configured for various applications, including ambient temperature and humidity measurement, pulse counting, -80°C freezer monitoring, or monitoring temperatures inside a cold room, fridge, or freezer.
While the unit is ideal for deployment in large warehousing facilities, its ease of installation and flexibility have also made it popular as a standard room monitor or for medium-sized fridge installations.
Like the VM 1000 and the WIFI Data Logger, the TIN node offers the same robust functionality delivered through the My Fridge Online Cloud Portal.
Monitoring & management
The TIN node utilizes the global LoRa (Long Range Wireless) standard and communicates via a gateway placed up to 1000 meters apart (distance subject to on-site verification). The LoRa standard operates on the low-frequency radio spectrum, making it well-suited for radio propagation within buildings.
A large number of TIN units can communicate through a single gateway within the effective range of the radio signal.
Operational benefits
Using TIN nodes eliminates the need for manual temperature monitoring and replaces the time-consuming process of manual data recording with an automated system. This allows facility managers to focus on their core responsibilities without dedicating hours to routine data observation and recording.
The system is designed for high availability and accurate, auditable data recordings. Data records are automatically stored for the duration of your contract.
Business benefits
Installing TIN nodes is fast and simple, delivering immediate cost savings to any company within the first month of operation. It ensures regulatory compliance with legally mandated standards for the manufacture, storage, and distribution of thermolabile products.
Deploying TIN nodes also reduces costs by eliminating the need for dedicated maintenance staff to monitor and record environmental data parameters.
Cloud-based temperature monitoring & management
The My Fridge Online Cloud Portal offers powerful yet user-friendly monitoring, management, and reporting for all our temperature monitoring solutions, including the TIN node.
In addition to real-time alerts, it features a clean dashboard with key indicators and the option to automatically generate and distribute accurate, detailed reports.
Additional integration options allow for data transfer with external third-party management systems, and we offer a range of bi-directional remote-control interfaces.
